Liz Dixon, our candidate for Parliament, attended the meeting and although it was an excellent opportunity for all the constituents to voice their issues to the representatives from all the agencies and companies involved it once again highlighted the severe underfunding issues. The agencies know what needs to be done but either don’t have the funding or would rather give dividends to share holders. It should not take a major sewage spillage in a nature reserve to get the agencies to talk to each other and work together to find a solution. The issues of winter flooding are only going to get worse as our climate shifts into ever more unpredictable patterns, there is no more road to kick the can down...
