Vattenfall is about to enter the formal stage of public consultation, which will run from 7th November – 11th December 2017

15 November 2017

Local residents affected by Norfolk Vanguard (and subsequently Norfolk Boreas) received the latest project newsletter earlier this week – the main purpose was to announce that Vattenfall is about to enter the formal stage of public consultation, which will run from 7th November – 11th December 2017. Anyone who has received this newsletter through the post should know that there was a significant error in one of the cable relay station site option photos – see the revised version online at https://corporate.vattenfall.co.uk/contentassets/bf0e5e31bbab467eaf02040c7b17513a/newsletter-october-2017-web-version.pdf

The key points are:
- Two relay station options now remain: 6a Munn’s Loke West near East Ruston and 5a, to the East or Ridlington.
- The formal consultation stage will run from 7th November to 11th December 2017
- The Statement of Community Consultation (SoCC) can be viewed on line now at https://corporate.vattenfall.co.uk/contentassets/bf0e5e31bbab467eaf02040c7b17513a/norfolk-vanguard-statement-of-community-consultation-october2017.pdf
- The Preliminary Environmental Information Report (PEIR) will be available 30th October 2017.

We will be reviewing all the available material and preparing a response from N2RS for submission once the formal consultation period opens. We are also assessing how the project is going to be dealt with by the District and County Councils and we will keep you informed of progress and any important dates.

The forthcoming formal consultation stage will be the last opportunity for the public to try and influence this project prior to the to submission of the Development Consent Order (DCO) application next year. We strongly recommend that you try to visit one of the project drop-in meetings (see below) to get the best idea of the impact on our communities and to submit your feedback.

If you can’t attend a drop-in, watch this space … we will be back in touch once we have further information on how you can take part.
